Gerhardt (Gary) Isringhaus who signs his work ISHA, has been creating paintings, prints and photographs professionally for over 45 years. "My art is a journal of encounters with spirit and matter. The vague ideas come and then the designs take form. The act of creation is a big surprise and I love surprises. Throughout my career, beauty and humor have attracted me. Be it an awe inspiring sunset or the humorous absurdity of life, these currents of joy can be seen in all of my work. For both rich attractions, I am eternally grateful.”

What Patrons Have Said of His Work
"Oh Isha, it's so...so... Ishaistic! Ms. A. Krantz, Berkeley California.
"Clearly your work is a form of...Ishaism." Mr. D. Gottlieb, Los Angeles, California.
"Isha, your work is naive like a fox!" Mrs. M. Grunstein, Mexico City, Mexico.
"Mr Isringhaus, who comes from the photo-realistic school of Romanticism, shows other pretenders to the throne that indeed paint by the numbered, that his is the only school of primitive art that genuinely comes from America. His use of colors in his most recent works puts Turner to shame and his choice of subjects is beyond reproach. It is obvious to all concerned in the art world that he is a national treasure."
Mr. R. Appelbaum, San Francisco, CA.
"Isha, great work. Why do you live in California? Real artists live in New York."
Christo and Jean-Claude, New York.
"It is good you work in many mediums, they feed one another."
